Yesterday I went to Washburn to attend a fundraiser for the new Forward Horizons, which is handling developmental disabled patients for the now defunct Horizons North. Heard about the event through an email from Elizabeth Bader, who sends out meeting notices regarding upcoming meetings of People First. She is starting Forward Horizons https://www.gofundme.com/forward-horizons-support-people-w-disabilities with another former Horizons North board member. Deanne Yost,who now owns North Coast Coffee (where the ice cream social took place yesterday) will also be on the board of Forward Horizons.
The chili feed, as well as live music, was held at the South Shore Taphouse, basically across the street from North Coast Coffee. I gulped down a beer and a bowl of real good chili in time to catch my ride back to Mellen.
