1 June 2019

Yesterday I went to Washburn to attend a fundraiser for the new Forward Horizons, which is handling developmental disabled patients for the now defunct Horizons North. Heard about the event through an email from Elizabeth Bader, who sends out meeting notices regarding upcoming meetings of People First. She is starting Forward Horizons https://www.gofundme.com/forward-horizons-support-people-w-disabilities with another former Horizons North board member. Deanne Yost, who now owns North Coast Coffee (where the ice cream social took place yesterday) will also be on the board of Forward Horizons. The chili feed, as well as live music, was held at the South Shore Taphouse, basically across the street from North Coast Coffee. I gulped down a beer and a bowl of real good chili in time to catch my ride back to Mellen.

Well, it's sure been a while since I posted on this particular blog. It's good to be back. I hope to incorporate all my blogs into one, and I'll be keeping you abreast of the progress. You can be sure of that. Meanwhile, it's May 19 and a look out the window reveals the sober truth, it's snowing to beat the band. Sure hope it stops before summer comes. I remember one Memorial Day up here when there was still chunks of ice off Little Girl's Point.
